Again great Atmosphere, Sound Design and pacing. It is more of an interactive film and very text-heavy, but i never got bored (Poe's texts are great) because the accompanying shots are beautiful.
Your Games have a great flair and are simply a joy to play. Especially the Cutscenes seem to be your forté (are you also a filmmaker?).
Do a full-length one and put it on Steam. Style, Music, Menus, everything is top.
Thank you very much for your comment and for playing "The Raven", snanitch!
I'm not a filmmaker, but I really enjoy slow-paced movies that focus on details or close-up shots. I particularly liked Robert Eggers films, and perhaps I drew inspiration from the shots he used in my games.
Although most of the cinematics come from my own imagination, I rarely rely on explicit movie references to replicate them.
I have plans to release a game on Steam, but that will be in the future. For now, I'm comfortable and happy uploading games on itch.io, and having people like you play them. :)
Great game! I really love Poe's work, especially The Raven, so it's nice to see a great game adaption. I had a lot of fun with my playthrough!
I saw in the comments below you mentioned having plans to adapt 'The Tell-Tale Heart' and 'The Black Cat'; so I'm very excited to see what create next!
Really loved it! So much so, that I wanted to re-record a video because I felt my voice was not up to par with your representation of The Raven, but alas, time didn't allow for it! I would love to see "The Tell-Tale Heart" made into a similar game too! Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Ever since The Moon Has Faded Away was released, I knew it was going to be an outstanding game.
I truly admire your wonderful taste in poetry, and developing style. It is rather unique and not as denoted as it once was, I look forward to more amazing work from my favorite game developer on Itch.io!
I'm happy to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed "The Raven" and that my games, in general, have captured your interest. It means a lot to me to be considered your favorite game developer here on Itch.io. I'm excited to share that my next release will be the final version of "The Moon Has Faded Away", and I hope you play it.
The game plunges players into a dimly lit room, resembling the desolate chambers of Poe's tormented protagonist. The ambient sound design is superb, the eerie whisper of the wind, all serving to amplify the creeping sense of dread. The atmospheric visuals, bathed in muted shades of gray and black, create a somber and gloomy environment that perfectly complements the poem's dark themes. As you explore the room, you'll encounter various objects that offer clues to uncover the mystery behind the visitor, the titular raven.
The true brilliance of "The Raven" lies in its ability to immerse players in the protagonist's deteriorating mental state. Through a series of hallucinations and disturbing visions, the game expertly conveys the character's descent into madness. The use of disorienting camera angles, and unsettling transitions creates an unnerving sense of unease, constantly reminding you that nothing is as it seems.
However, despite its many strengths, the game's mechanics and interaction are minimal and that creates more a narrative, visual novel type of feel to it, rather than the walking simulator, at times.
Nevertheless, the game successfully delivers a gripping and immersive horror experience. I loved every minute of the game and definitely recommend people trying it out, although as said in the review, this won't be everyone's cup of tea.
Best of luck with the future developments. Cheers!
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed "The Raven" so much. Honestly, I was a bit nervous when I released this game, as it's quite different from what you typically find here on itch.io, but your review reassured me.
"The Raven" is a narrative game meant to be experienced like a short film with small moments of interaction. I put all my effort and dedication into the dialogue and atmosphere, which I worked on for a long time to achieve.
I understand that the game won't appeal to everyone, but as long as there are people who like it and appreciate the effort that went into it, I'll be more than happy.
Thank you for taking the time to play and review "The Raven." Your feedback means a lot to me.
Absolutely, 100% agree. (I was just going over some personal projects, just checked the notifications).
My review is just straight from the heart. It feels like most games are desensitizing the feeling of dread and atmosphere, but with your work it merged into something bigger, with more depth and superb execution. You should be proud.
Once again, best of luck with the future endeavors and can't wait to see more.

Thanks for playing "The Raven", Super Space Squid! As for "The Tell-Tale Heart", I have plans to create a game based on that story.
Additionally, I also intend to make a game about "The Black Cat", but all of this will take time.
